"Thank you for the fantastic week at La Jeuss.I wanted to email you directly to thank you again for the help and advice you gave me during the week. I found the course truly inspirational, and I feel I've learned an incredible amount in a short time."

For the past six years Harvey has taught a summertime week-long songwriting course at La Jeusseliniere in northern France. Places are strictly limited and are allocated on a first come first served basis.

"Just a quick mail to thank you so much for a wonderful week at La Jeuss. The warmth and hospitality of everyone involved was a delight. Thanks for your expertise and inspiration."

La Jeusseliniere is the farmhouse home of Martin Wyndham-Read and his wife Danni, and a more idyllic setting for a week exploring lyrics, melodies and performance is hard to imagine.
"Needless to say you left a bunch of new students enthused, motivated, envious of your skills, and perhaps most important of all, we went away as great friends who will stay in touch for a long time to come."

The 2007 course is already sold out, but we will post details of the 2008 course here as soon as they become available.

"I gained an enormous amount of inspiration from Harvey's course. I don't know exactly where the inspiration came from - was it the fine weather, the beautiful countryside, the harmony, humour and good spirit that was constantly in the air? Was it the impeccable hospitality and good cooking, Harvey's patience, diligence and talent as a singer/songwriter and tutor? Or was it the joyful feeling of being completely immersed in music for a whole week with such kind and wonderful people?"

"Well, here I am 41 years old. I've just got back from La Jeuss and I'm sat in my office in Scarborough on the east coast. Harvey says that Scarborough has only one road in and one road out. How pleased I am that the road took me to La Jeuss. I booked a place and then wondered what I'd done. I questioned my ability. Don't. All you need is an open heart and the freedom to take one week of your life, which will undoubtedly change every minute that follows it. I listened, I laughed, I cried, I sang - and I wrote songs. I heard amazing stories, told by amazing people. Enough stories to fill a book, or an album maybe! It was an incredible week that I'll never forget."
