I always thought Harvey was the most wonderful Impressionist painter, better than any I’ve seen to date. He takes our ancient medium of language and turns it into something so incredibly beautiful that it stays with you in fragments. I just hope the numerous songs that never made it to the studio make it to the printed page. Maybe not for great benefit of the maestro himself but in the best artistic traditions, those behind him. But less selfishly, if anyone has earned a long, happy, health retirement, Harvey has. Wonderful gig tonight.

All very well but you never told us what he sang.
I’m a Dubliner though a fan of Andrews since Hey Sandy days never scene him live as he’s never got this far
And now he saying goodbye and you don’t even tell me what he sang at one of his farewell doos

The song is so apt and sums up the Harvey Andrew magic so well. I don’t have a radio in my car – I just sing Harvey Andrews songs as I drive – always have.

God Harvey is it really that long ago, where oh where have all those 35 odd years gone, as I sit listening yet again to “Fantasy from a corner seat”.
Thanks for the honesty now as it was all those years ago.
Still dosn’t explain as to why you never reaced Dublin but life go’s on

I knew Graham for a few short years here in Portugal and even now I still am shocked that he has passed.All I can say is that I was proud to have met him and proud to have called him a friend. Go in peace my man

Hi went with my son to Biddulhp town hall last night ,my son Jake is 19 yrs old ,he is very much into writing lryrics poetry and song s, He reckon s he was treated to an absolute master class in song writing ! . I have already sent a message to Harvey when this first put the notice up about Graham but as there are only 2 comments showing I thought I should put something up as a mark of respect. Graham and Harvey made a great team and Graham’s contribution was a wonderful match for Harvey’s voice and lyrics. A talent that will be missed by many of us. RIP mate our loss is Heavens gain.

So sorry to hear of Graham’s passing I met him recently at Rosie Hardman’s concerts. Makes the lyrics of “mindful goodbyes ” all the more poignant. RIP

I heard, sadly, of Graham’s death at Harvey’s concert in Hitchin on Sunday. Fond memories of their concerts together in the seventies – my tapes of their BBC concerts will now be more precious. Harvey touchingly reprised the Otter song as an encore, regaling the story of writing it with Graham in a layby near Oxford late at night, and having to sing it to a local policeman who wondered what was going on in the steamed up car! RIP Graham.
